Abstract Instructions & Guidelines2023

An abstract should highlight major points of your research and explain why your work is important; what your purpose was, how you went about your project, what you learned, and what you concluded.

Please be aware that some local firewalls may restrict access to the abstract submission website so if you are experiencing problems, please do try to access this from another machine where possible.

All abstracts must be submitted online via our abstract management platform Oxford Abstract. You will need to create an Oxford Abstract user account by entering your email address and a password. 

We will not accept any submissions by email.

Abstract Format

Abstracts should be no more than 300 words, formatted in Microsoft Word, and single-spaced, using size 12 Calibri font.

It is recommended that abstracts are submitted in the following format for consistency. 

  • Background
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusion/Findings
  • Implications (if applicable)
  • Disclosure
