Professor (Col) Jon Clasper
Jon qualified from Glasgow University in 1986 and completed his basic surgical training in the armed forces. His higher surgical training included a year at the major trauma centre in Baltimore, USA, and 3 years at Oxford. His clinical post is Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Frimley Park Hospital.

From 2009-14 Jon was the Defence Professor of Trauma and Orthopaedics. He is the author of a number of book chapters and of specific papers on trauma and upper limb surgery and has gained doctorates in both Medicine and Philosophy. In 2010 Jon was appointed as a Visiting Professor in Bioengineering at Imperial College London.

As Clinical Lead in the Royal British Legion Centre for Blast Injury Studies (CBIS), Jon is responsible for the clinical direction of all its research activities. CBIS has a growing team of scientists, engineers and clinicians across the civilian and military domain leading the knowledge and understanding of the complex problem of blast injuries.
